These original illustrations are inspired by the philosophy of sumi-e Art, which captures the simplicity and spontaneity of a subject using minimum brush strokes to reduce it to its purest form and express their essence. Find her new collection of our dear Brighton friends, the seagulls, on display, as well as a menagerie of other feathered and furry friends.

Beach Shack Project

Hannah Marshall runs “Beach Shack Project” creating coastal inspired artwork and jewellery.

The beach is a constant source of both inspiration and a platform for gathering materials.

Shells, sea glass and pottery shards are transformed into unique one off pieces of jewellery using organic hemp rope, seaweed twine, embroidery threads and surgical stainless steel.

Beach Shack Project

Seraina Baumgartner

Seraina Baumgartner, aka “Margate Shells” is an artist who decorates sea shells with stunning gold intricate patterns. Each shell has been collected responsibly and gilded by hand using genuine gold leaf.

Seraina Baumgartner

Seraina’s love of the sea shines through in each piece, and because of the nature of working with found materials, each shell is a one off.
Most are decorative pieces but they can also be used for a multitude of uses due to the longevity of gilding the pieces... they can be used as tea light holders and trinket dishes. The possibilities are endless!

Lena Goodison

Lena Goodison is a Swedish self taught contemporary artist that lives and works in Nottingham, UK. She creates colourful, bold pieces, often human portraits, still life and cats that are superimposed, abstract and mystical. For this exhibition Lena has created a stunning body of work which we are excited to show! Rainbow Clams, shimmering fish and funky lobsters will all make an appearance!

Lena Goodison

Lena Goodison

Lena’s inspiration comes from colourful architecture, travels to North Africa, urban city landscapes and the people living there. And long treks in nature, just breathing in the fresh air and being surrounded by wildlife.

Lena’s impressive clients include IKEA, Caboodle Magazine, Hoxton Hotel, Soho House, artwork for EP covers (music) and private commissions both in UK and overseas.

Jane McCall

Jane McCall creates a range of beautiful unique lampshades created in the style and earthy tones so loved by the famous Bloomsbury Set residents of Charleston Farmhouse.

Jane McCall

I love the undersaturated colours she uses, equally perfect for a seaside or country home.
The shades are all British made and are limited edition prints from original designs by Jane. She also offers a bespoke service and can make any shape or size of shade painted in the design and colours of your choice.
She also provides original hand painted bases that match the shades.

Helen Lucas

Helen Rebecca Lucas creates fabulous ceramics, inspired by both the city and the sea. Her pieces are human and nature influenced, with an architectural aesthetic.

Helen Lucas

Helens work is always concerned with questioning design, style and function. Her ceramics are textured and layered, using familiar yet surprising shapes and details. Slab built pots hold many impressions revealing many layers and textures throughout the surface.
The colours of her ceramics evoke the same hues you find in the ocean and the ecosystem around in, undersaturated hues with pops of turquoise and cobalt against neutral organic tones.
